Thanks for visiting the website. I'm a freelance web developer based in central Scotland (UK) with 10 years of professional experience. I studied Glasgow Caledonian University and graduated in 2008.
So, Cobber . . . A strange little word isn't it. Derived from old English and used in New Zealand and Australia, it's an informal way of calling someone your friend or mate (though mainly used by men rather than women).
Well it sounded better that Code Mate and I like the concept, a friend who codes.
So I created Code Cobber.
I design and build elegant, responsive websites and themes for businesses. All the websites and themes are built using the GetSimple cms (content management system). I really like Get Simple primarily because it's nice to work with, it's easy, it's fast, it's great for users in business who just want to crack on with web site updates. Ok no more about Get Simple (I could go on for ages).
Getting a web site isn't that difficult. However just having a web site isn't the answer. Creating a valuable web presence is. Whether you require a simple but effective web presence or something a little more intricate - I'm here to help.
Many website design companies charge ridiculous amounts for websites. I've seen web design companies charge tens of thousands for a corporate website that frankly are no different from most websites and are happy to con businesses into spending more than they need to. Obviously there is a technical skillset needed for designing and developing websites and online web applications, but there is also a requirement to be transparent to your customers and not make things more complicated than they actually need to be. In an attempt to assist small businesses, I aim to provide themes . . . FOR FREE.
Based in central Scotland (UK), I provide free basic website themes for your business. If you have any questions, please get in touch with me today. Contact me
Company designs, logos and corporate branding should be instantly recognizable to every potential customer, not too cluttered or over ambitious. The same philosophy applies also to web design. The average user makes a decision about a web site within the first 30 seconds. With that in mind, I like to keep the designs uncluttered in an attempt to ensure the user receives the right amount of information they require. Holding the user's attention will increase the likelihood that they do business with you.
Not every business requires the full monty with a multitude of web pages, sometimes it's just as efficient to come straight to the point. That's ok too . . .
I hope this helps explain a little about Code Cobber and how I work. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me an email.
Thanks for your time.
